Security guard stationed around the clock

February 7, 2011billrossInquirer

Dear Guild member,

Starting today a security guard will be stationed around the clock at both the front and back doors of 400 N. Broad Street. Also, the back door officer will now provide escort to the parking lot to any employee who asks. Guild leaders asked to meet with Philadelphia Media Network management after several recent reports from members about unsavory characters gaining entry into the building through the 15th Street door after it went unguarded in the late-afternoon, and about theft in the parking lot. In addition to the increased physical presence of security, the company has agreed to install more video cameras in the parking lot as well as signs warning would-be trespassers that the area is under surveillance.

We would like to thank the company for hearing our concerns and promptly implementing these improvements of employee safety.

In unity,

Dan Gross, President,
Bill Ross, Executive Director,
and the Executive Board of the Newspaper Guild/Communications Workers of America Local 38010
