Who governs these benefits?
A Board of six Trustees appointed jointly by the Newspaper Guild of Greater Philadelphia (TNG-CWA Local 38010) and Philadelphia Newspapers, under provisions of the federal Taft-Hartley Act. The three Union Trustees are officers of the Newspaper Guild of Greater Philadelphia: Henry J. Holcomb, president; Carol Rothman, treasurer; and Frank Santafede, administrative officer. The three Company Trustees are executives of Philadelphia Newspapers, Michael Lorenca, Senior Vice President of Human Resources, Fred Lehman, Director of Human Resources, and Tom Grabe, Capital Planning Manager).
The Taft-Hartley Act requires that these trustees act in the interests of the members who benefit from the fund and, when acting as trustees, keep this work separate from other issues and negotiations between the union and the company.

Is Richard Gabriel a person?
No. It is the name of a company, derived from the first names of the founders. The principal of the firm is Gabe Zinni, who is the administrator of our benefit plans.
Who is my Dental coverage provider?
United Concordia Flex Plan and United Concordia DHMO.
United Concordia Flex: You can go to any dentist. If you use a participating dentist, he will accept the fees that United Concordia allows. If you go to a non-participating dentist, he may bill you the difference between what the plan allows and his charges. Yearly maximum coverage: $1,000 per individual; $2,000 per family (one person can use all $2,000). (Customer Service 1-800-332-0366) United Concordia DHMO : You must pick a participating dentist and use that dentist for all services. (Customer Service 1-800-332-0366).
What is my Vision Coverage?
Davis Vision : Coverage includes one eye exam in each 12-month period. If you use a participating eye doctor, the examination will be paid in full. If you use a non-participating provider, reimbursement is based on the type of provider.
Exam In-Network: Paid in Full. One exam in each 12-month period.
Frames or contact lenses In-Network: Paid in Full (up to $125 value). Once in each 12-month period.
Lenses In-Network: Single Vision, Bifocal, Trifocal - Paid in Full. (up to $125).
What Health Insurance Programs are Available?
Medco Rx $10/$15 for all presciptions
-Prescription co-pay is $10 for Generic Drugs (one month supply); $15 for Brand Name Drugs (one month supply).
-Mail Order Drugs are available (for maintenance drugs), only two co-payments for a three-month supply. Call the 800 number on the back of your Medco Prescription Program ID card.

Office Visits co-pay $10 Do we have Long Term Disability (LTD) insurance?
Yes. Benefits are insured by Aetna Life Insurance Company. To obtain claim information, call the Guild office (215 928-0118) or richard Gabriel Associates (215-773-0900).
The LTD plan provides eligible employees replacement income should they become disabled as defined by the Plan.
Benefit: 60% of your eligible pay (maximum benefit $8,500 per month).
(Your benefit begins the day after the elimination period. The elimination period is the later of 90 days or the date your eligible sick pay ends under the contract between PN and the Guild, if applicable.)
What should I do if I leave the company before retirement age?
Talk with Cindy Swartz at richard Gabriel Associates (215-773-0900). It is important that she always have a current address for you.
What if I have a benefits-related issue that richard Gabriel Associates cannot handle?
Call the Guild office or one of your Guild officers.
