Thanks Henry!!

Henry J. Holcomb, a fixture in the Philadelphia Inquirer newsroom for 25 years, where he forged a reputation for honesty and thoroughness that earned him respect of not only his colleagues but the thousands of people he has covered, retired on August 6th. The good news is he is just stepping away from his journalism role.  In the spirit of dedication and generosity that has also defined Henry, he has agreed to serve out the remainder of his term as Guild President through the end of the year.  There would be no greater honor to our friend than your participation Monday, September 1, in the annual Tri-state Labor Day Parade in Philadelphia.  There, a number of unions will pay tribute to a man who has tirelessly advocated for hundreds of Guild members and has been a dependable supporter of other labor unions in the Philadelphia region, and across the country. Please call the Guild office at 215-928-0118 to reserve your bracelet which provides free entrance and food at the Family Celebration.  We will begin lining up at 9am at the Sheet Metal Workers' Local 19 Union hall, Columbus Boulevard & Washington Avenue.  After the parade, please join us at Festival Pier where the Guild will gather to provide our union brother with a fitting "thank you"

Congratulations, to Daily News Tattle Columnist Howard Gensler, who has been appointed to Guild Treasurer in accordance with the local by-laws, at this months Executive Board meeting.  Howard fills a huge void left by Carol Rothman who has been elected to Secretary Treasurer of our International Union. We wish both Howard and Carol much success in their new roles.
